Be Back Soon

30 September 2025

Life has been a busy these past few months, and I’ve been up to a lot of since my last post:

- My honeymoon in Italy with my wife

- A stop in Santorini to celebrate a friend’s wedding

- A last-minute deployment on a ship, with port calls in Australia

- Visiting Kawaguchiko and hiking Mt. Fuji with my wife

- Exploring Tokyo and experiencing the chaos of Shibuya Crossing

- A work trip to Kumamoto

- Countless mini-expeditions around Okinawa in my van and quiet neighborhood walks

With all that going on, I’ve officially put the photo of the day challenge to rest. I say good riddance. What started as a fun challenge became more of a burden. Instead of practicing photography with intention, I found myself forcing pictures of random household objects after long days, which only pushed me further away from my camera. Maybe one day, when life slows down, I’ll give it another shot (and hopefully not fail it again), but for now I’d rather pick up my camera when I feel inspired, not obligated.

As I finally catch my breath and settle back into day-to-day life, I’m excited to sit down and thumb through the backlog of photos I’ve taken. Living in Japan and traveling the world has given me no shortage of incredible moments, and I don’t want to miss a photo. It’s going to take time, but slowly and surely I’m getting there and I’ll begin sharing again soon.
